Atlanta Local: Cypress Street Pint & Plate

By to: Hello Beautiful — November 29, 2012

Here at to: Hello Beautiful, we believe that finding a balance between work and play is very important. We work in a creative space, so things aren’t too strict, but since we all just started working together, we thought it’d be fun to get together outside of work.

Half of our staff has relocated to the Atlanta area, so we all decided that a great way to explore the city and have some fun together would be to check out one new place a month. This month, we decided to head to Cypress Street Pint & Plate. What a great decision!

The ambiance at Cypress is very comfortable and laid back. The four of us—Boss Danny, Creative Director Allison, VIP Account Manager Stacy and I—seated ourselves in the outside portion of the restaurant. There was a fire pit, so we opted to sit near for warmth. The chill waiter came by to get our drink orders and suggested we try their special, the bruery autumn maple. We did and it was delish!

On a trip to the restroom (not impressive, I must say), I noticed there was a film crew there. I figured it was just some students from a local college or something. Turns out it was a major network (I think they said Travel Channel or Food Network) filming a feature on their donut burger! Yes, Cypress Street Pint & Plate proudly serves a donut burger, named “sublime doughnut.”

I ended up ordering their vegan chili nachos—everyone agreed that they were amazing! Stacy went for it and ordered the sublime doughnut. The burger was served in between two donuts as buns. It looked so bad for you, yet so delicious. This donut burger is definitely an indulgence. Allison ordered “chef fran’s hometown philly” cheese steak while Danny was all about the “cypress st.” fish tacos. We were all satisfied with our meals and the service. Here’s a breakdown of what we all thought (on a scale of 1-5):

To add in a little extra dose of fun, Danny came up with the idea to have a photo contest. So look out on Facebook once a month for us to post our photos where you can vote on your favorite! I won this time so our next outing is free for me (yay!). Make sure you have a say next time and have some fun with us!
